“He” Drives Me Crazy…

I think there’s a 90’s pop song entitled “She Drives Me Crazy”, but I’m changing it a bit.  First and foremost, I LOVE MY HUSBAND!  Actually he’s more of a soul mate than just my husband.  I wouldn’t trade him for anything.  However…he does a few things that just make me nuts!

Today’s example is television.  He’s very realistic and likes things to be realistic.  He just can’t abide television or movies that are not.  Sometimes it bothers him more than others and today is one of those days.  We were just watching a TV movie, a crime drama, and his “commentary ” is what irritates me.

Police officers do things that are really stupid and God knows they can’t shoot a gun to save themselves.   I agree with him totally, but what I try to tell him is that if the officers did things the right way all of the time the movie would last about 15 minutes instead of the typical run time.   The average person wouldn’t pay to see a movie that lasted 15 minutes or watch a TV movie either.  Drama is the name of the game.  They have to do all of this stuff to make the story even though sometimes it makes the story lame.  I understand it, but he has a really hard time with it, so he makes continuous comments.  It drives me crazy, but it almost seems funny at the same time.  For the most part he’s right, but just can’t appreciate the drama .

Thankfully like I said, it doesn’t happen all of the time.  Perhaps today is just a “hormonal” day for him.

That’s my pet peeve for the day.  I’ve vented so I feel better.  :)

I don’t remember those commentaries as much as the ones he used to give during any romantic comedy or romance movie/series you watched. Or him figuring out the ending of a movie and blurting it out in the middle. Used to drive me nuts too!

Maybe it’s a guy thing. Ryan starts commentaries while I’m watching LOST. “Oh, you just wrapped up all the mysteries of the island right there,” he might say sarcastically. I have to “ssshh” him really loud and give him “the look”. I mean, we have two TVs for a reason! :)
