I wonder IF my husband and I could ever make that sort of a change.  Lord knows it would probably be better for BOTH of us.  We both have high blood pressure, controlled cholesterol, and I have type two Diabetes.

It would probably take us nearly two weeks to begin the new lifestyle due to the current “stores” we have on hand in the ‘frig, freezer and pantry.  Why  not cold turkey??  Honestly we can’t afford to waste that food.

There’s so much going on these days especially with politics.  Choices!?  My choice is not in the running, unless as a V.P.  …Yes, I was hoping for Hilliary.  Now I’m not sure which way to turn.  Both candidates have their good points, so I guess I’ll just have to follow things closer this year than in past elections.  Who knows…maybe my decision won’t be made until “the day”!!

There are a lot of companies coming out with sugar free candy these days and that’s very nice for diabetics.  You still have to be careful and count the carbs involved, but if you really need the taste of good sugar, more and more it’s starting to be out there.

I sent an e-mail to the parent company, M & M Mars, and left a suggestion that they too come out with a sugar free M & M.  I got an e-mail back from them telling me that they don’t use input from customers for those types of decisions.  I think that’s flat out STUPID!  They could have at least worded it so that they might pay attention instead of just telling me more or less that they don’t give a rip.  Is it just me or is this stupid?

One piece of good news….I was able to for the first time, find a sugar free chocolate Easter bunny this year.  That was a first for me.   Thank you Russell Stover.    I bit the head off, just like a little kid, then put the rest of it in the freezer for the future. 

We’re very close to warm weather.  It reached the high 40′s yesterday and it was very sunny.  We even opened the front door for a while to get some fresh air.  It felt so good.  It’s supposed to reach the high 50′s today.  I HOPE THE WORST IS OVER!  I’m so tired of being cold, but all in all it’s been a good winter season. 

If the 50′s continue we’ll probably see spring bulbs rising up soon.  I just hope they don’t get frozen after that.

We’re still getting snow.  We’ve had almost 80 inches this season.  The winter sports enthusiasts are loving it and I’m glad for them. 

All in all it’s been a good winter.  I’ve stayed warm and dry.  Yeah…it’s been much colder, icier, and snowier than I’d really like, but God has his reasons for the bad weather.  Maybe someday we’ll all find out just what they are.

Anyway…seven weeks is a lot better than sixteen. 

Today’s example is television.  He’s very realistic and likes things to be realistic.  He just can’t abide television or movies that are not.  Sometimes it bothers him more than others and today is one of those days.  We were just watching a TV movie, a crime drama, and his “commentary ” is what irritates me. 

Police officers do things that are really stupid and God knows they can’t shoot a gun to save themselves.   I agree with him totally, but what I try to tell him is that if the officers did things the right way all of the time the movie would last about 15 minutes instead of the typical run time.   The average person wouldn’t pay to see a movie that lasted 15 minutes or watch a TV movie either.  Drama is the name of the game.  They have to do all of this stuff to make the story even though sometimes it makes the story lame.  I understand it, but he has a really hard time with it, so he makes continuous comments.  It drives me crazy, but it almost seems funny at the same time.  For the most part he’s right, but just can’t appreciate the drama .

Thankfully like I said, it doesn’t happen all of the time.  Perhaps today is just a “hormonal” day for him. 

That’s my pet peeve for the day.  I’ve vented so I feel better. 

I do it.  I try to do a 40 minute “routine” six days a week.  It includes a warm up, some aerobics, a leg workout, some weight work and a cool down.  Over all it’s about 40-45 minutes.  I say I try to do it six times a week.  This week I’ve done four days so far, so I’m doing pretty well this week.   I guess I’ll just leave it at, I’ll try to do the other two days also as well as the same “try” for next week. 

I addition to the workout which I do privately, my husband and I try to walk 2 1/2 miles a day at a local mall.  Weather permitting we’d walk outdoors, but can’t during this snowy, cold time of the year.

One of the things I find interesting about “mall walking” is the different types of people it brings to the mall.  Sometimes I feel as if I’m the only female there that wants to break a sweat at all.  Some of these ladies are wearing a full program of make-up and are usually wearing designer clothes.  I guess I’m just the opposite.  When I work out it’s not pretty.   Different strokes for different folks, I guess.  I guess the really important thing is that we’re at least out there, doing it.

At times I see older senior citizens using a walker and carrying oxygen.  GOOD FOR THEM!  At least they’re trying to better their lives.   I hope I’ll always at least try also.  …Good life…

Sidenote…I just got through “chatting” with my daughter in California.  Boy..what a world this is.  I wish sometimes that I could sit down with my mother or grandmother, both deceased, and show/tell them things that we’re able to do now that may not have even been a remote thought to them.  I can only imagine what will be in store years to come.  ….I feel that in spite of problems with the world today I live in a pretty great time period. 

Well…I guess I’ll go work on another project!

As of January 20th., Michigan’s had three times the snow we got all of last year.  We had another seven inches this past week, so I’m guessing we’re about up to four times now.  If you’re a snow/cold weather sports person it’s great.  The skiers,snow boarders and others are loving it so I hear.  I’m glad for them.  I’m just staying warm.  I’m a warmer weather exercise person.  ..Different strokes!

Wouldn’t you know it….since I got the machine, I’ve had nothing to mend!  …Good news/bad news. 

I thought about the past and remembered Cassie being a child and how I’d occasionally sew things for her.  They were usually articles of apparel, nothing really fancy.  I wondered if I’d be able to do anything like that again.

Mind you, it’s been 25 years or so since I’ve sat down at a sewing machine.  Now they come with DVDs that show you everything, even how to open the box.  There’s also a manual, so I should be set.  (???)

I put it on a table and  plugged it in.  I turned on the light over the needle.  I correctly threaded a bobbin AND was able to load a spool of thread and thread the needle.   I have a lot to remember, but hopefully I can have some fun with it and mend more efficiently when it’s  necessary.    :)
